By offering protection to villages of tribals, the Brotherhood is able to draft recruits from among the tribals. Instead of being able to travel freely across a broad world full of places and events as in other Fallout games, the player is confined to one location at a time. Fallout BoS was a console xbox release, and it is the worst Fallout title to date, and really has nothing to do with Fallout, it's a generic top-down semi isometric title.
